BIBLICAL APOSTOLATES
For Catholics, the Bible is the Word of God. The Church believes that the books of the Old and the New Testaments were “written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they have God as their author and have been handed on as such to the Church herself.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 105)
As such, Catholics believe that the Scriptures “firmly, faithfully, and without error teach that truth which of God, for the sake of our salvation, wished to see confided to the Sacred Scriptures.” (CCC 107)
The Biblical Apostolate programs of COTT aim to cultivate in the people a personal encounter with Christ through reading and praying with the Scriptures in order to live, share and witness the Gospel. These programs include:
Bible Timeline Salvation History
This is a very successful 24-part Bible Study program by Jeff Cavins that takes participants on a journey through the entire Bible in a direct and easy-to-understand fashion.
The course follows a group study format which encourages discussion, personal sharing and testimony. Meals are also prepared at every session by volunteers so that participants can have some fellowship together.
